Proactive stewardship of historic buildings and sites begins with a comprehensive understanding of the facility’s capital needs and a prioritized understanding of work that needs to be accomplished.  The Condition Assessment Study report is a critical planning document when it comes to developing a comprehensive overview of building and site needs.

Each Condition Assessment study is tailored to address the particular issues facing a given property. Most reports include a review of architectural, structural and building infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) systems. Studies may also be expanded to include a documentation of building history, creation of measured drawings, detailed analyses of paint film or other historic materials, a review of geo-technical conditions or site drainage, or a preliminary analysis of the site’s archaeological sensitivity. Other reports examine the feasibility for adaptive reuse.
