Avon Old Farms School was founded in 1927 by Theodate Pope Riddle, Connecticut’s first licensed female architect, and was constructed to her design between 1918 and 1927. The design of the school was closely aligned with the forms and philosophy of the early 20th century Arts and Crafts movement in Great Britain and the construction materials and techniques a faithful replication of 16th-century construction practices used in the Cotswold region. The School is listed on the CT State Register of Historic Places.

The multi-phased work took place over the course of an eight-year period and included preparation of multiple Condition Assessments for capital planning; Grant Support for multiple grant applications; and provision of full architectural services for the restoration projects listed.

Grants received included:  Historic Preservation Technical Assistant Grant (HPTAG), Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation;  Historic Restoration Fund (HRF) (three separate grants); Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism
