CONTRACTS: Condition Assessment Study and on-going advisory support
The Pardee-Morris House dates to circa 1780 and is thought to be one of the oldest standing domestic structures in the City of New Haven. It is currently operated as a historic house museum with seasonal programming.
Our work started with a condition assessment to provide an up-to-date basis for planning and budgeting to stabilize the building which had suffered from repeated flooding and deferred maintenance. Structural members hidden in concealed areas were included in the survey work that was performed as part of the study.
A prioritized matrix of restoration work was prepared as part of our work which has served as a blueprint for the Museum’s on-going restoration efforts. Our team continues to work with the Museum and GNCB has overseen structural repairs and restoration while our firm provides informal guidance to Museum staff on conservation issues.
